What is Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)?
Developmental Language Disorder is a common Speech and Language disorder that can effect some pupils in most classes.
DLD can effect Speech Sounds, Learning and Memory, Social Language, Word Finding, and Sentence structure.
DLD Awareness Day
Friday 15th October is DLD Awareness Day- Speech and Language Therapists, Teachers and Pupils are encouraged to dressup in the colours purple and yellow.
On Tuesday 5th October the children in Sion Mills Speech and Language Class dressed up in purple and yellow colours to raise awareness of DLD. We played some Speech and Language games and had a DLD Party.
